My primary aim came to buy Mr. Mineyuki Nakazato's work is, of course, the work which Wave Crest Pattern was drawn. At Shinjuku Isetan, the maximum number of Wave Crest Patterns that I had seen at one time was lined up. I wanted everything, but too much is not beautiful so I decided to make it fun at a later date, this time I bought this plate (Cake Plate with Union Jack and Foliate Rimmed Design).
This is sometsuke of Union Jack pattern, part of St George's Cross is Wave Crest Pattern. It is molded by stacking teared porcelain earth and you can understand it from the reverse side. I feel somewhat lonely in the photo of the plate alone, so I tried making the top with the Japanese sweets on top, which is not as caloric as cake.
Why Union Jack? My guess is that since Mr. Nakazato 's car is the active sports type Lotus 11 of the 1950's and even he is making the Scottish Paisley pattern sake cup, so he is quite a UK lover.
