Okay I know what you're thinking: "You can have big calves only if you have a good genetics" well.. that's not true.❌
People can't grow their calves just because they don't train them enough, they do 3-4 sets PER WEEK and they think their calves will magically grow. Just because they are small muscles, that doesn't mean they will grow with small training. So let's see how to train your calves properly👌

✔VOLUME
If you want to see some results you should add volume to your calves training, you should do AT LEAST 8 sets/week. However if you want to get the best results, a range between 12 and 16 sets per week is the best. As always, you want to start with a lower volume, and add series overtime until you have to deload and start back.
Reps can move into a range from 8 to 15 per set. As always, I strongly suggest to exploit all the rep range, so you wanna try to add both high intensity-"low" reps days and low intensity-high reps days. ⚠REMEMBER: not enough volume is the MAIN REASON because so many of you (and mee too) have small calves👊

✔FREQUENCY
Calves are small muscles, so they don't need so much time to recover. For sure you should train them at least twice a week (like every other muscle), but if you feel well, you can go as high as 4x week with no problem.

✔EXERCISE SELECTION
You can do whatever calf exercise you like. I personally suggest to choose just one to do for two-three month, then switching to another. Calves don't really need different angles to be trained well.
Make sure that your techinque is on point: your legs should be straight, and you wanna strech your calves until the end before pushing up. I left you an image above.

✔REST TIME
Calves don't really need minutes to recover between a set and another. You can do 10s to 30s  when doing high reps work, and 30s to 60s when using high intensity and low reps.

☡You won't probably see quick results, calves growth requires a lot of time, more than your chest or your shouldera. Just train hard and be patient, if you're doing the right things they will grow.☡

🖤I can assure you that this never gets easier to post. About 5 years ago I joined @hardcorefitnessla and it completely changed my life. Sometimes I forget where I started and only realize how far I’ve come when I post these pics side by side.

Since then I have maintained a fairly healthy lifestyle and fitness routine but have gotten sidetracked from achieving my fitness goals which is why I decided to do another challenge! Physique update:
Picture cold no pump.
Been bulking the past 3 months
Stage weight was at 172lbs 4% body fat, at the moment I'm 211lbs 10% running on 5.2k calories and maintaining for the next month, chest thinkness has improved so as my back, pretty proud, but still much to improve on..
