Today is definitely one of those days where I had to kinda push myself to get through my workout 😩 I've been getting little to no sleep lately so I'm definitely feeling pretty weak. But ya gotta do whatcha gotta do! Everyone has off days, you just gotta push through it sometimes. Today I did an upper body/HIIT circuit because my legs are hella sore (peep my leg workout video from Sunday & give it a try). Tomorrow I'm switching it up with a boxing class so I'll let y'all know how that goes lmao happy Tuesday peeps ✌️

Piriformis syndrome can mimic sciatica pain
Your piriformis muscle helps your hip joint stay in place and makes walking and other movements possible by letting the thigh rotate. The condition known as piriformis syndrome occurs when the piriformis muscle spasms and pushes against and aggravates the sciatic nerve. The pressure on the sciatic nerve can cause pain, numbness, and tingling down your leg and into your feet, this also happens with sciatica. 💥💥💥💥💥 Women are 6 times more likely than men to have piriformis syndrome. 🤷‍♀️Piriformis syndrome is happens mainly in women age 40 to 60.
Differences in anatomy between men and women, especially in the pelvis, are often the reason why. The pelvis to be wider in women results in a sharper inward angle of the thigh bone. Hormonal changes, especially those affecting the pelvic muscles during pregnancy, may contribute. Pelvic changes during pregnancy can also stress the area, leading to piriformis syndrome.
Overuse or an injury can cause piriformis syndrome. 🤰💁‍♀️
If you do a lot of running or other repetitive movements, you could be putting pressure on the muscle and causing it to tighten. 🏃‍♀️🏃‍♀️🏃‍♀️ This stretch is my go to, for any of my clients who suffer from this pain. 👏🏻🙌🏻 it actually specifically stretches the muscle. It does stretch the muscles surrounding it too, which will help to relieve the pain and reduce the tension build up. 🤩🤩 Hold this stretch for 30 seconds on each leg and repeat 3 times a day until it eases. ✅✅✅

Well PHA training refers to the way in which you order your exercises, more specifically, alternating between upper body and lower body exercises. Example workout...

Alternating lunges
Press ups
Leg raises
Optional cardio exercise i.e starjumps

10-15 reps of each exercise (cardio exercise 30 secs to 1 min)
Rest 1-2mins
Repeat 3-5 rounds

Alternating between different areas of the body prevents lactic acid build up in any one area, your heart has to work harder to pump blood around the body rather than one area which increases calorie expenditure as well as improving cardiovascular ability. As long as you stick to the template of upper, lower, upper, lower, core - you can sub in whatever exercises you want, which makes it versatile too. I was told someone said me and Michael workout too much. Ummm? 🤔 I don’t understand why people have to criticize others for the sake of justifying something they’re unhappy with in their own lives. Why is it so difficult for people to be supportive of others? Or encouraging? People like this have dangerous insecurities about themselves if they feel the need to put others down for their own reassurance. I just don’t get it. No matter what, you’ll never make everyone happy and not every person you encounter will like you or support you - so do what makes YOU happy, even if “working out too much” is a bad thing 🤣🤣 #hilarious #mindblown 🤯😅
