August marks my 6th month of being #vegan ❤️🌱 I have never felt more connected to my body and this beautiful 🌎. Initially, my intentions for going vegan were for health reasons.. but now I have so many more reasons to continue this beautiful lifestyle. I cried multiple times at the gym today. I just woke up feeling bad. My sleep has been pretty shit lately and people have actually been dying in my dreams???? My arms and legs looked HUGE to me today. Just one of those bad body image days. It’s the hair too - I know I feel like 10x shitter when I don’t straighten it. It’s just yuck. I didn’t think I would complete my workout but I actually did. Freaking proud of myself. You’re not always going to feel good about yourself and I acknowledge that. Hopefully tomorrow I’ll feel better! 🙂

For about half a year I've been training with a more "lift heavy and fuck shit up" kind of game plan..except there was no game plan, I wasn't tracking my progress, but it was fun and kept things interesting for me. Prior to this half year I frequently got tired and lost motivation to lift due to stagnancy of my routines so I decided to not even worry about routines together. Although it has been fun, I noticed my staple exercises were getting weaker over time and I actually lost size in certain muscle groups due to the lack of overall weight progression. So here's what I learned in order to maintain the drive and keep things fresh: • DON'T keep doing the same exercises with the same set and rep ranges YOU WILL GET BORED {MIX THAT SHIT UP} •DO throw in one or two days of fun choice lifting (meaning you go all out with intensity not worried about beating PR's) or more dynamic training • DON'T neglect lighter than heavy (75-80% of 1RM) days with more volume in the workouts because that's where the strength occurs *DO YOUR RESEARCH!!! Look up videos of long time gym users and learn from their journey's as well as articles online from coaches, athletes and scientists to help you understand your body better!

DON'T neglect endurance based days with higher volume x frequency (more 6x10 of 50-80% of 1RM) because if you want your muscle to look cut then you need to work every striation in the fibers through strong contractions and slow decentric movements •AND ALWAYS TRACK YOUR PROGRESS NO MATTER WHAT YOU DO!
