Most photos that make it onto your Instagram feed showcase your “best” self, the right angle or the perfect filter. For yogis it’s all about perfect form and alignment. The reality for me, is I am still growing. I am proud of where I am, because it’s not about achieving ideal alignment or an end goal it’s about releasing, embracing, and feeling in the moment.
Yes, I am a teacher, but that doesn’t mean every posture comes easy for me. With perpetually tight shoulders and a delicate cervical spine from a car accident six years ago, wheel pose is a challenge for me. I come alive, my heart bursts, my body energizes.
