This pretty much synthesizes how I feel about writing. What written words have echoed across the ages to you? For me it would be the words of Lao Tsu whose teachings still resonate true and wise today.

My TBR pile featuring myself! I took this photo back in April and still haven't read any of the books pictured 😳 Such are the trials and tribulations of being a chronic #bookhoarder. - H

(🇬🇧 review in the comment section down below!) 🇩🇪 Hallo Leute 👋🏼

I'm back home! With books and one of my parents flower beds as a backdrop 📷🌸 I was recently sent all of these ARCs for review and am looking forward to diving into some new bookish adventures. The weather here is absolutely hot but with a breeze which suits me just fine. My goal for the week ahead is to review all these and learn to make some own homemade iced coffee! 😱☕️ One of my cats was rushed to the emergency vets yesterday with a wound to his leg. Please send him some well wishes if you can 💕 I also uploaded a video I filmed to my IGTV yesterday of all the books I purchased on holiday. It isn't the best quality but would mean a lot to me if you could stop by and have a watch. ☺️ #book #bookme #booked #booknow #booking #bookish #bookstagram #bookstagramfeature #bookworm #booknerd #booklife #booklove #bookaholic #bookporn #bookphotography #bookphoto #bookgeek #bookgram #bookblog #bookstack #reader #reading #readersgonnaread #readersofinstagram #instabooks #unitedbookstagram #newbooks #sunny #booksbooksbooks

Who else loved these books when they were young? I adored them, and they definitely fostered my love of history. They help make history come to life and to help create understanding and empathy. 💕💕 .

The hour 30 challenge for @24in48 readathon is to share your favorite under the radar book. Too many of my favorite books easily fall into this category, so I chose one of them...The Third Policeman is one of my favorites (especially on audiobook). #24in48 #24in48readathon #books #readathon #audiobooks #amreading #book #readersofinstagram #bookish #igreading #bookworm #booksbooksbooks #booksofinstagram

Shelfie 💛💙 I buy lots of the boys books at charity shops, normally for silly prices like 50p! 🙌🏻 It helps me feel less guilty about then spending a fortune on new releases/books I can't find second hand! Does anyone else feel like books may bankrupt them one day!? 📚💰🙈

I love a good family story. Do you? Seeing a family grow and struggle through time fascinated me, and this is what I hope to experience with The Kinship Of Secrets by Eugenia Kim. I received this in the mail recently thanks to @hmhbooks! I cannot wait to read and review it later this year!

I was tagged to take part in #midyearbookfreakouttag by @saymoreglass so here goes. •

Best book so far: I can’t choose. No, really I can’t. Contenders include Strange Weather in Tokyo by Hiromi Kawakami, Warlight by Michael Ondaatje, Black Narcissus by Rumer Godden, The War of the Worlds by HG Wells, The Painted Veil by Somerset Maugham, The Sea Change by Elizabeth Jane Howard, The True Deceiver by Tove Jansson. •

Best sequel - Greeks Bearing Gifts. Not strictly a sequel but the latest in Philip Kerr’s Berlin Noir series. •

New releases I haven’t read yet but really want to - Kudos by Rachel Cusk and Circe by Madeline Miller. •

Most anticipated releases - Killing Commendatore by Haruki Murakami, Transcription by Kate Atkinson, Love is Blind by William Boyd, Melmoth by Sarah Perry. •

Biggest Disappointment - Force of Nature. I really enjoyed Jane Harris’ debut The Dry so I was looking forward to this one but it just didn’t do it for me. F Scott Fitzgerald’s The Beautiful and the Damned was also a major letdown. •

Biggest Surprise - Moon Tiger. As much as I love The English Patient I was a bit disappointed that this one didn’t win the Golden Booker. I absolutely loved it. •

New Favourite author - Penelope Lively. •

Book that made you cry - Flowers for Algernon by Daniel Keys. •

Book that made you smile - The Dud Avocado by Elaine Dundy. •

Most beautiful book you’ve acquired this year - Not fiction but a cookery book, Diana Henry’s How to Eat a Peach. I adore that tactile peach fuzz cover, the stunning photography and, of course, the delicious recipes. •

Favourite review you’ve written - I don’t know. Perhaps you should decide. •

Books to read before the end of the year - Where do I start? My TBR pile is so enormous I could be crushed if it topples over. •

After seeing the film trailer for this on Netflix, I knew I wanted to read it before it came out! I started this last night and I’m hoping to finish it today 😊

It’s such a fun, enjoyable read that I definitely needed after reading something a little bit dark. I can’t wait to see what happens 💜

I went back to my favorite thrift store for books yesterday in search for more from A Series of Unfortunate Events. Unfortunately (har, har) they didn't have any, but if you saw my stories you know I didn't leave empty handed. Do you ever find books at thrift stores?

There are so many people who doesn’t know their worth and they settle for less. That is just heartbreaking. You must know your worth and you must be with someone who take cares of you and treat you well. Then again what do i know🤷🏻‍♀️

Packing for my trip to Kashmir and choosing which books to take, this one was a no-brainer. This beautiful anthology was a perfect companion amidst a journey weaving through lush mountain tops and winding dizzy roads.

Faiz Ahmed Faiz was born in 1911 in Sialkot. He is credited to be a revolutionary poet and faced political repression for his progressive revolutionary views and poetry to follow. In fact, Faiz married his sweetheart Alys in Srinagar October 1941, just a few miles away from this very spot! .
