We gather and unite because of one reason, we love our Indonesia.
Preserving our culture is important, it's a part of our identity. If we don't preserve the cultures, in later generations they'll completely forget about the beautiful culture of our ancestors.
Everyone can be an ambassador, introducing our culture to those who don't know about it, promote and educate people.
Now I give you brief description what gamelan is:
Gamelan is the traditional ensemble music of Java and Bali in Indonesia, made up predominantly of percussive instruments.
The gamelan predates the Hindu-Buddhist culture that dominated Indonesia in its earliest records and thus represents an indigenous art form. The instruments developed into their current form during the Majapahit Empire.
The most common instruments used are metallophones played by mallets and a set of hand-played drums called kendhang which register the beat. Some of the instruments that make up a gamelan in present-day are Gong, Kempul, Kendhang, Kenong/Kethuk, Bonang, Slenthem, Saron, Demung, Peking etc. (Wikipedia)
