A Perfect Landing
During the final two weeks of semester 1 of @eviscomm, we worked as a communications team to help the Rice Lake Plains Joint Initiative (@discoverrlp) rebrand. As part of that project, we set out to take photos and video to showcase the incredible beauty of the many conservation sites in the Rice Lake Plains area. @colton.p.johnstone, @stuartanderson1490, and I traveled to the Hazel Bird Nature Reserve to capture shots of the sunset.
I noticed the lone tree 🌲 standing down the hill we were on, and decided that it would make a good photo if I could get the sun right in line with the tree. I had to keep readjusting my tripod, inching over to the side every so often because the sun wasn’t coming straight down, but I did manage to get a few shots that worked! 🎉
Now matter how many times I watch the sunset, it always feels magical. Even when I’m trying to take photos of it, it’s such a gradual process, that there’s plenty of time to stop and appreciate it and set up your shots! So often I wonder if I’m missing out on experiences because I’m trying so hard to photograph them, but with sunsets, I get to take my photos and live in the moment. The perfect combination!
Do you think it’s possible to get tired of watching the sunset? 🌅
