I remember taking this photo one morning near the end of my prep and thinking that I still wasn’t “lean” enough. I was so unhappy with the fact that my abs didn’t look better. I then thought about how if someone would have told me that one day I’d be able to reach a physique like this, I would have never believed them.


I use to believe that happiness would come from obtaining a certain amount of leanness. “If I can see my top two abs then I’ll be happy”, “if I can get rid of the cellulite on my legs then I’ll be happy”, “if I can see my lower abs I’ll be happy”, “if I can get rid of almost all my body fat I’ll be happy”. It seemed like once I reached one of those goals I then needed more to reach “happiness”. It was never ending, I would constantly pick myself apart


It took me a time or two of getting stage lean to realize that being lean wasn’t what was going to make me happy. The happiness came from setting goals and accomplishing them. The happiness comes from eating healthy, working out, and seeing what my body is capable of. When my happiness was dependent upon a certain way I thought my physique should look it always left me wanting more and never happy with how far I’ve actually come. Wherever you are in your fitness journey, remember to give yourself credit for how far you’ve come. Wanting more isn’t a bad thing, however sometimes it can be a never ending cycle of thinking you’re not making progress 🙏🏽

While in these photos you see my physical transformation most obviously, this transformation is SO much more than a look.
Sure there’s obvious transformation going on here, but

Look beyond the obvious. Look at the girl in the bottom pics. Look at the posture, the way I cut my face out of the photo. Not at all put together. She is screaming insecurity.
Now look at the girl in the top photos. She’s poised, she’s smiling, she’s carrying herself with confidence and with pride! And THAT right there, that’s the transformation I want y’all to see here.
Another take away, seventeen months lie between these photos. This didn’t happen overnight! There were set backs. Some minor and some major. But with a little perseverance and a whole lotta self-love, I changed my life.
[Never. Fucking. Give. Up.]

I will never understand why junk food is so much cheaper than fruit and veg! My arm days are usually just a complete upper body day. I like to train all upper body muscle groups in one day to make sure I can train legs at least 3x a week! Plus my upper body is the fastest to build muscle. I also do abs on these days too. These are my favorites 😄⁣

•Single arm bicep curls (2x20)⁣
•Barbell bicep curl (4x10)⁣
•Single arm dumbbell lat raise (2x15)⁣
•Shoulder press (2x20) *not in video*⁣
•Single arm dumbbell row (2x20)⁣
•Row machine (2x20)⁣
•Lat pull down machine (3x15)⁣
•Tricep dips (as many until fail) I currently suck at them rn ⁣
•Dumbbell overhead extensions (2x20)⁣

DISLIKE VEGGIES? Try this!

I personally hate vegetables, but I know they are good for me so I find ways to implement them without being miserable. Every morning after my working I make a chocolate/peanut butter protein shake with spinach blended in. You can't taste the spinach at all but you're still getting the nutritional value of it! Try this shake!

Almost a year between these photos! I can’t stress enough that ALL fitness goals take time! If you’re thinking you’re going to hit those goals in a couple weeks or months, it’s not going to happen. The last year I lost pregnancy weight, put some back on while working on putting on more muscle, but most importantly took advantage of any available time to stay as consistent as possible. Our bodies are incredible and capable of pretty much anything. We just need our minds to take the lead.

When I do the 30 Days or offer it to others. Their first response is I don't do diets. The idea that a diet is only eating salads, counting calories, cutting carbs, or starving is FALSE!
I get to eat 100% real food! I don't count ANYTHING and I definitely do NOT starve!
Changes I notice is I have more energy to spend time with my kids and motivation to get housework done. I am more alert and awake through out the day. I have less stress & anxiety. Moodiness is out the door and I am actually sleeping more than 5 hours a night!

It’s funny to me how a backroad can bring back a ton of memories and fill me with so many emotions. I ran this road all the time growing up, I had a love/hate relationship with the hills on it, and I rode/drove on it regularly...for one reason especially, to go to my long-time, forever friend @bppprest house. We practically lived together growing up...we were at each other’s houses so much that sometimes I’d tell my mom to make up an excuse that she couldn’t come over😂(yes I told her this in later years, hah). I think about her everyday, without fail. Her absence still feels surreal, and I miss her all the time. It’s not fair that such a vibrant soul was taken from so many of us at way too young of an age. 😞💜 Id give anything for one more day with her, one more mall trip, pool day, or adventure. Running has always been a way for me to be at one with my thoughts and it helps me de-stress, but it also has a way of letting my mind run wild and think of some of the most random things. For the past year, though, anytime I’m running (especially back home), my mind automatically goes to her. Being back home last weekend and running this route again hit me hard and brought on some wicked nostalgia, but I will forever cherish all the good times & memories I had with her💕
