Progress on a new 3d modeling and rendering project. Have been exploringt the French Revolution in much more detail lately. In year 2 of the Revolutionsy calendar, there was a period when many cathedrals were converted over to "Temples of the Supreme Being". This wasq a state religion propagated by the Committee of Public Safety under Robespierre. To this day many French churches retain inscriptions reading "Le peuple français reconnaît l'être suprême et l'immortalité de l'âme" I now see cathedrals not just as structures that embody the humiliation and toil of the time of feudalism, but also as watermarks of failed revolutions, societal aspirations that just didn't stick. (As a side note, the lighting of this scene was generated by inputing the precisce position of the sun on 9 Thermidore, Year II, or July 27th, 1794, the day and hour of the reaction that toppled Maximilian Robespierre and ended the Reign of Terror. ) #rhino3d#keyshot#3drender#3drenderartist#cad#3dmodeling#frenchrevolution#medieval#cathedral#gothic#gothicarchitecture#robespierre#thermidor

Lauren Taylor and Jack exchanged vows at Rayne Memorial United Methodist Church. The historic Rayne Memorial United Methodist Church, with its unique and lovely Gothic-revival architecture, built in 1875, has had for 139 years, a strong and active ministry in the heart of uptown New Orleans. Because of its tall, graceful spire illuminated at night, she has become known as “The Church of the Lighted Steeple.” .
