I've never had the privilege of experiencing one of Honda's S-series cars from the 60s. In true Honda tradition the specification is crazy. Twin cams, four carbs, roller bearings throughout, a redline more normally associated with an F1 engine of the period. The chassis itself is strikingly ordinary by comparison. No spaceframe or monocoque, just a ladder frame. The rear suspension on these early S600 cars is unique in that it runs chains from the differential to the rear wheels, and the chain cases act as trailing arms. The S800 reverted to a live axle. I've seen the compared to everything from a Spridget to an Elan, but the truth is they don't really compare directly to anything. That's how being unique works.
