Back Day is my favourite day! I get so pumped, I get the best workout, my abs and other muscles are always popping afterwards and I leave feeling super happy 😊 I consider it my most important day! A strong back stabilizes the spine, helps with posture, and is necessary for a lot of advanced lifts 💪🏻 happy almost the end of the week everyone x
Irish 19-29 1000m record in the bag. When @the_row_series workout 3 was released i knew i had to go for it. The lung burn was real after this one. Had to have a chat with myself 600m in as the legs got heavy and the lungs began to realise what was going on.
Delighted with this afterwards though. More so that I can push through that wall again. Something I was lacking the past few months. Onto the next.
Current state less than 2 weeks until holidays
...Am I where I wanted to be...no!! but no-one's perfect 😊 .
I've really been struggling with discipline (dieting) these past few weeks. June was so busy & stressful in school with end of year assessments, reports etc & as a result I allowed myself that biscuit in the staffroom & accepted offers of chocolate from colleagues 🙈 .
The end is in sight & I'm so looking forward to some time off away from everything to relax & unwind! .
#throwbackthursday Back a couple of years when I gave people help (lifted) up the final obstacle of @hellandbackrun The half pipe was very steep that year and people really found it difficult. So I spent hours pulling people up by the rope! It was some workout!! 👹 #tbt
When training in the gym stability is a huge factor to consider. It's overlooked enormously in gym programs. Think about doing a horizontal row for your back. You have lots of choices from free weights to machines, and all types of variations.
So why am I doing the exercise in the video above?
Stability is the answer here. I'm not worrying about balance or what my legs are doing or anything like that (which I would be concerned about if I was doing something like a barbell bent over row). The only thing I need to concentrate on is actually using my back muscles to move the dumbbells through the range.
The next time you can't feel a muscle working properly why not swap out the exercise for an exercise with a bit more stability.
