#Onewayticket to #Europe:
When I got to the #Lake I decided to ride the entire perimeter. It was blast riding along the path that hugged the edge of the water. Beach revelers basked in the sun, other bikers rode along and zoomed past me, and groups of vacationers sauntered in the sun. There’s something seemingly perfect about #lakebled Tucked away in the embrace of the greenest forest you could imagine is not only this gorgeous lake but in the middle island, a castle. You almost can’t believe this is real….it’s that stock image photo of that far away fairytale place that you never imagined you’d find….but I’m here and I want to embrace this day so tight that it never slips away…..ever….but there’s this castle on the hill…and you can see it as you’re riding…and it’s begging to be explored….do I dare…but the more honest question….do my legs dare to climb that hill.
The day is young and this bike was built for exploring…#onward
When the train arrived in #Lakebled well you don’t actually arrive there…so was pumped to have a bike. The terrain was described to me before I arrived but it sounded more like a roller coaster ride and I couldn’t imagine how that could be true….it was true! I’m thankful there was a bike path along a lot of the journey but the dips in the road we steep which made them fun to coast down but I quickly imagined the ride back up those fun drops in the road…but the road to Bled wasn’t only filled with power slides there were some steep incline hills and the sweat poured off my face but the workout gave me a rush. Also I was heading into the unknown. I couldn’t imagine how this thick forest could resolve into anything more than….more forest but when I got closer I noticed the scores of people in full beach wear and there was the kind of optimism in the air that can only come from a day at sea. When the forest cleared open revealing the lake it’s revelation also unmasked the glory of the mountains I was in.
The day is young and this bike and I have more exploring ahead
