Well this one was quite an adventure!! We had decided to take an innocent-looking path which started from a road. That path was going downhill and quite steep at times but no problem so far. Gradually and almost without realising, the path had been becoming a canyon and as we moved forward, it was getting deeper and narrower. It is hard to appreciate in the picture but behind those wooden planks there was a massive drop leading to a huge puddle.
This was the exact moment we realized we were in trouble.
We were carrying so many bags, turning around and climbing back up was not an option. It was starting to get dark and it was starting to rain, the canyon was filling up with water and small rocks were dropping from the top of it. Of course, no phone reception either. Our only option was to keep moving ahead downwards hoping for a way out and the truth is I enjoyed every minute of it, what a beautiful place that was! Yvette did not enjoy it as much though 😅
The trail finally led us to the wonderful Rose Valley which made the effort even much more rewarding.
