"My dark days made me strong, or maybe I was already strong and they made me prove it" #survivor
Wishful #makeuping! was given a second chance at life, now to actually get one :) #alldressedupwithnoplacetogo#loveyourscars#gratitude almost #7monthspostop ! I've spoken to so many open heart surgery survivors and so many of us experience a low grade depression following the surgery- I've noticed people feel shameful and guilty talking about that side of surgery- I mean- our lives were saved and the gratitude you experience is in buckets full! But then there's the underlying grey, or sadness. I've heard from some that it takes the first year to settle into the recalibration of the heart and mood. Some days the time flies and other times ( like tonight) it feels like it's inching along.. I just wanted to lend a voice to this and say I'm here with y'all- #thistooshallpass#openheartsurgery#myxoma#wearesurvivors#depression be kind and gentle with yourselves- 🙏❤️✨. Thanks to each of you in this online community that have supported me through this amazing and challenging journey. I continue to stay #positive focus on #progress and the #miracles instead of the setbacks. Depression is real, remember to access your support system. #support is key.
