Happy Birthday Bloody Kisses. Bloody Kisses is Type-O’s third studio album. It is also the last recording to feature the band's original line-up, as drummer Sal Abruscato would leave Type O Negative in late 1993.
Type O Negative - Bloody Kisses - Released: 17th August 1993. #typeonegative#typeo
Released in 1993, and turning 25 years old on August 17th, Blood Kisses features Black No.1, Christian Woman, a cover of Seals and Crofts 'Summer Breeze', the whole album is a gothic classic. Clearly influenced by Black Sabbath, "The Drab Four" as they call themselves, do not take themselves too seriously. With song titles like 'We Hate Everyone' and 'Kill All the White People', its clear their humor is tongue-in-cheek. Many of their songs are love songs but with a dark sarcastic twist. Fronted by the baritone Peter Steele, Type O Negative would have never been the band they were without him. You just have to listen to his voice to understand. With this release, the band began experimenting with psychedelic noises and really gained traction. At the time, Peter was city trash worker who enjoyed what he did. The band released Bloody Kisses and became heavy metal legends. Black No.1 is about narcissistic goths but at the same time all the goths were listening to it. The final track, Can't Lose You has a sitar with mesmerizing background vocals. I literally lose myself listening to that track. Their next release, October Rust, was more experimental. Im simply glad to own this, its one of the most sought out priciest records in my collection. RIP to the Green Man. #typeonegative#petersteele#bloodykisses#blackno1#christianwoman#wehateeveryone#roadrunner#vinyl#goth#gothic#metal#nowspinning#ripgreenman#octoberrust 🍁👀
Guys! This is the secret project I had worked on that I was so excited for! This is the second time I have had the honor to do work for the estate of Peter Steele ❤
Completing these projects for the Estate of Peter Steele meant more to me than you can imagine. He was my idol and his music carried me through my early adulthood and many major events in my life. "The Estate of Peter Steele is happy to announce sanctioned and authorized merchandise for sale in Peters honor. Artist Joey James Hernandez and Lisa O'Brien both American artists worked passionately with us and made this vision come true. A portion of the proceeds will go to a non-profit charity (still to be determined) in Peter's Steele's memory. Here's the link if you'd like to purchase both shirts." https://shop.art-worx.de/detail/index/sArticle/2747
