So yesterday, many people were asking me if I’d ever gone sailing. The fact is I grew up on a sailboat and was a total marina brat with my dad always being there working on things for his and other peoples boats. I still remember running around barefoot on the docks getting splinters in my toes but I was a kid that had no worries or cares in the world because I was happy to be free to do as I pleased knowing that everyone at the marina was looking out for me.⠀
Today I feel a bit sad for the kids growing up with phones and devices that they take with them everywhere they go. I must say even I have gotten swept away into using these handheld devices that cause us to miss out from anything that is further than a few inches from our face.⠀
With that being said, yes, I know I sound a bit hypocritical here considering I am typing this out on social media, however, the fact is we all could use some fresh air and moments of carefree excitement that doesn’t require it to be documented for the world to see you.
What we do in the moment, right now, and the things that bring us joy will carry us through in our memories till the end of our time. ⠀
So what do you want to remember?⠀
Do you want to remember all of the hours perfectly curating your Instagram content so that your life appears to be “perfect” or do you want to live each day without a care in the world like the younger version of ME running around the docks at Mackmore Marina?
