Still frame from this beast of a project I have running in the background : #thealligatorpear.
It’s my first feature, shooting will resume end of August.
In the meantime I’m keeping busy editing the #documentary#larry.
Working on massive, vfx heavy films at work-work, my personal aspirations are heading in the opposite direction usually. It makes sense to me to think this way, and I find it strange when I see people from my industry doing at home the same stuff they do at work. Go figure. Ain’t judging.
Anyway. Hop day. Hope you all doing great.
Here's a still from a music video I recently shot for an artist called MASUMI.
I'll probably elaborate on the technical aspect when the video is online in a couple months.
Half of it was shot in the Anza Borrego desert, a few hours South of LA. The temperature was above a 100º when we started filming that day ; luckily it dropped a bit towards the end. It was rather brutal for all of us on set... The TERRA6K (camera) performed extremely well in those harsh conditions. I obviously had to set the fans to full blast. Glad there's an option for that.
I rented a Gratical Eye (OLED viewfinder) for the occasion, and liked it enough that I have since purchased one.
I totally indulged myself on this project, going for a sexy 2:40 ratio 100fps slow-mo... Hell. If I don't do it on a music video when will I ?

Yesterday we sat down with LARRY to record the VoiceOver for the (documentary) film. The whole process has been a treat so far, and I'm now ready to dive-in completely into the edit.
Meanwhile, ALLIGATOR PEAR is still developping. The narrative is getting richer and we're aiming at August to resume shooting. It's tough, challenging, nerve wrecking at times. It's a mountain to climb but I'm certain that the view's gonna be worth it. The journey is, despite the difficulties.
And talking about "view being worth it", here's a still from Ana being bloody gorgeous as always.
Stay tuned folks. Cheers,
I ended-up on Hollywood Blvd last Sunday to shoot with LARRY. I was dreading to go there as it is one of my least favorite places in LA (after theGrove and 3rd Street Promenade).
All whinning apart, I think I captured a few nice scenes, including this one.
I kept it very "low-key" with the Terra in its most bare configuration, along with a simple Rokinon Primes (I didn't want to bring the Sigma 18-35 to the Zoo).

Spent a few hours scouting locations for "The Alligator Pear" today. Stripped the Terra from all accessories and put one of my cheapest lens on it to keep it light. (TERRA 6K-Canon FD35mm-ProRes 4.2.2)
