On this day, the class was a small group and hence more individualize attention for my participants. Here we are working on the target mitts which is also a workout for me having to hold the mitts up. I do sweat a lot when I instruct this class. I know some places will allow the participants to hold up the target mitts and while this may look great in terms of the participants socializing with one another, it can be dangerous for those wearing the mitts unless they are proficient at holding mitts. Some of these participants in this predominately female studio do get very aggressive on me when I hold the mitts to the point where for safety reason, I do wear an athletic cup supporterโ—๏ธ As stated before in previous postings, this class is where I utilize my background as a 1st Degree Black Belt ๐Ÿฅ‹ in Shotokan Karate from the late 1๏ธโƒฃ9๏ธโƒฃ9๏ธโƒฃ0๏ธโƒฃ's in a kickboxing #groupfitness format today. Body weight workouts were always hard for me as they are hard for most people. I noticed with a low carb diet, I can do body weight workouts better because I dropped excess water weight. I enjoy doing them now and I have seen a huge improvement in posture. ๐Ÿ‘๐Ÿป .

The hype around booty building is insane lately, but be be wary of the buzz. YES you can grow your glutes, and NO it doesnโ€™t have to take years, but know that genetics will play a large role in determining just how round you can go, and other factors (waist, posture, hamstrings...) also play a role in the overall appearance of your glutes.

Youโ€™ll hear the same exercises come up time and time again (i.e. hip thrusts, lunges, squats, deadlifts, abductors, leg curls, resistance band everythings... ) because these tried and true exercises work. Donโ€™t over complicate things by doing some crazy exercise you found on a random website โŒ Stick to the basics.

Tight hamstrings will help separate the backs of your legs from your butt, giving a more round appearance, so yes, you need to be working these muscles too. Your waist, same thing; the smaller it is, the more hourglass your shape will appear โณ And never underestimate your posture! Posing and flexing your glute muscles alone can take a flat booty to a nice booty in 3 seconds when done correctly.

Genetically, I will probably never have the ability to have a booty worthy of music videos (๐Ÿคฃ) but Iโ€™m willing to work my ass ON to build as much muscle as I can. As a bikini competitor you are judged on round, lifted, tight glutes, so that is where a large percentage of my focus lies. If you want to build a booty, set some realistic expectations and get ready to work for it. A nice butt is a great accessory for literally every outfit...including none at all๐Ÿ˜‰
