I really never post pictures of myself on IG but today was a special day for me so I will make an exception. I just swam in the Cross-Continental Swim on the Bosphorus in Istanbul, Turkey. It’s about a 6km race from the Asian Continent to the European Continent. There were over 2,400 swimmers representing 50 Countries. I finished 2nd for my age group behind Sydney Olympic Silver Medalist from the Ukraine, Denys Sylantiev. I think I finished about #30 overall out of 2,400 swimmers. Thank you to the Turkish Olympic Committee for putting on a World-Class event and congrats to all my friends, especially Alex Kostich @alexkostich who was 3rd overall behind two young athletes (half his age) on the Turkish National Team. Special shout out to Amy Dantzler @amydantzler who was the 3rd overall female. Steve Childers @swc90046 finished 2nd in his age group and Bryan Libit @greatnessbl finished 1st in his age group. I believe we were the top 5 Americans of the 34 who were here. Congrats to all those who completed, competed and crossed this very special body of water to/from these two amazing continents.
