Today’s post we @getstretchyatwork! Reduce Back Pain by Improving Your Posture!! ‼️ Do these simple exercises to move out of pain, and strengthen your spinal muscles. This will take you less than 5 minutes to do. Plus it’ll boost your mood!! 😁 Tag your work buddy!.

1️⃣ Lay flat on stomach, with wrists by ribs, palms flat on ground, forehead on ground, legs straight back behind you.
2️⃣ IMPORTANT: Hug elbows into the midline of your body to activate back muscles.
3️⃣ Pull belly in to spine
4️⃣ Reach energetically through the crown of your head to lengthen your entire back side
5️⃣ Inhale, then exhale and draw shoulders down your back and out of your ears as you lift the crown of your head up.
6️⃣ Do the different variations i show here (hands on floor, hands floating, then cactus arms), hold for 3-5 breathes in each pose, do 1-3 rounds of each pose.
7️⃣ Then watch this video all the way through to learn how TO NOT do this exercise.

Let’s @getstretchy In hollow back today! Working with the wall is how I opened AND strengthened my shoulders, Lats, triceps, chest for this pose. And most importantly this is how I learned mentally how far down my hips go. Play around with your gaze too, because in the photo I was looking forward and in the video I’m looking back so try both ways. Let me know if you have any questions.

These two stretches open up your hips, hamstrings, calves, feet, side body, and inner thighs - so much benefit in two simple stretches! Remember to breathe 5-10 breathes in each pose. {@getstretchy on the Couch - Part 2! Scroll back on my feed for Part 1} Relieve low back and hip pain from this easy stretch! Here’s how you do it:
1️⃣Simply sit your tailbone at the edge of your couch or chair
2️⃣ Place both feet flat on the floor
3️⃣ Cross right ankle over your left knee with a flexed foot
4️⃣ Keep your spine long and reach through crown of head as you lean forward, keeping tailbone rooted into the floor
5️⃣ Hold for 5-10 breathes —- Add a twist ——
1️⃣ Come back to long, neutral spine, and place left hand on right knee
2️⃣ Anchor hands into knee as you twist your spine from the navel up, thinking of turning your sternum behind you
3️⃣ Continue to toot your tailbone down as you reach up through crown of head, keep left foot rooted into floor as well
4️⃣ Hold for 5-10 breathes —— Repeat other side ——

This is a SUPER VULNERABLE share!! @getstretchy with REAL TALK! I’ve been debating on posting this for four months!! What made me pull the trigger NOW? Since it’s halfway in the year, I revisited my (scary) goals this weekend and here are my top 3 goals: 1. Being totally and unapologetically myself; 2. Being totally vulnerable in my life and with you, because the more i can be transparent and not be attached to any outcome of what may come of it, the more I can radically love myself, the more I feel compassion for other people, and the more unionized I am with humans. My 3rd goal I’m working on is to not take things personally, meaning someone’s experience of me is their experience, and that’s it. I can still learn from the feedback and grow, but I don’t let it bring me down. Now the reason I didn’t want to post this “imperfect” picture of myself is because I’m making up a story in my head that I’ll be less powerful, less liked, less revered, less all these things if I don’t show up perfect. BUT, I get to be myself and wholeheartedly love myself, no matter what, and that begins with loving the dimples in my butt. 🍑 🌟For the record i never edit my photos, i only post real ones. When i got this photo back from my photographer i WANTED to edit it and see what i would look like with a touch up, but wasn’t going to post it like that. And that’s what inspired this post. 🌟This picture did inspire me to start up my butt workouts again, because I’ll be honest I haven’t been doing them in this last year, but now I’ve started back up again and it’s fun, and from a place of love, and a new challenge for myself. I just took a spinning class and the entire time I was thinking about how stiff my feet, calves, hips, and thighs were getting in these shoes and staying in the cycling 🚴🏼‍♀️ position for soooo long! I rarely take spinning for these reason, but when I do I make sure to @getstretchy after because underneath my feet we’re starting to hurt from the stiff shoes 😫. This also applies if you’re wearing stiff heels or shoes all day too ❌👠👞❌. So i know it’s unavoidable to wear shoes, so make sure you take 5-10 minutes to stretch after, otherwise it could lead to plantar faciatis or other injuries!! 🔥❌🔥 I walk barefoot everywhere I possibly can and love running barefoot on the beach to keep my feet strong and mobile, and most importantly, PAIN FREE!

Here are 3 Stretches, hold for 5-10 breathes each:
1️⃣ Hamstring Stretch, assisting with towel: loop towel over flexed foot and lengthen spine. Then breath, press heel into bench, pull abs slightly in, and move closer towards leg by pulling the towel as long as spine stays straight.
2️⃣ Quad stretch (use wall for balance) and aim to bring knees in same plane as you lift lower belly and draw tailbone down to lengthen spine.
3️⃣ When you’re in your quad stretch you can add a slight tilt of the head to stretch the neck and shoulders.
