Cover all your bases when it comes to tempo in your programming. Pair a traditional strength movement such as a barbell split squat with more explosive movement like a Bulgarian split squat jump. An upper body example of this could be supersetting your bench press with a plyo push up. Learning how to hip hinge is ESSENTIAL to building your strength and athleticism but it is also important for people focused on aesthetic goals.
The hip hinge is one of the most powerful movements your body can make. That is why it key for explosive lifts like Snatches and Cleans but also important for power lifts like squat and deadlifts. Even if your not an athlete or competitor you can maximize you results and reduce your risk of injury by strengthening your posterior chain and learning to move correctly.
I start every single workout with some body weight hip hinges just like at the start of this video. This helps turn my body on and prepare it for the work that is coming. The movement is very simple but the devil is in the detail and mastering it takes practice.
Start by locking in your torso and keeping your abs tight, then drive your hips back as far as you can while keeping your spine neutral and stable. You want to be folding in the middle and pushing your hips back so that you look like a < or a 7, not leaning forward so that your head and chest move forward past your toes looking like an upside down L. Your abs and the erectors in you back are flexed tight and resisting movement while the power comes from your glutes and hamstrings.
Start with body weight and once you’ve mastered it you can add weight either with a bar on your back for Goodmornings or weight in you hands for RDLs.

Training with friends allows you to be part of a pack. They can cheer you on or call you on your bull shit. They can spot you when it gets heavy or force you to get a few more when there is gas left in the tank. The biggest benefit of training with friends is wearing smiles and having fun!
