“A wonderful moment at Tanjung Putting National Park in Indonesia, when an orangutan mom with her baby came close to us,” writes #YourShotPhotographer Elmar Weiss. “Two different worlds, both sides act curious and respectful!”

“I agree with Your Shot photographer Rose Ungvari who commented, ‘This is such a relatable and fun image. I can easily imagine a human parent carrying their child on their shoulders like this. I like the close crop which draws your attention to their expressive faces and delighted eyes! You have captured beautiful tones and contrasts in black and white. This must have been such an amazing experience for you, to see this orangutan mother and her baby come up close to you with ease and trust.” — @natgeoyourshot Producer David Y. Lee (@davidylee

“A rescued purple-faced leaf monkey at the Wildlife Rehabilitation Center in Sri Lanka hold my hand,” writes #YourShotPhotographer Tilan Weerasinghe. “I believe that all animals feel your true love to them.”

“I agree with Your Shot photographer Shannon Hunt (@shuntm42) who commented, ‘I think this is a perfect example of how we need to respect and love all living things because we have so much in common. The little hand showing trust as it reaches out to grasp the person’s hand is a wonderful example of how we can treat each other with kindness, no matter what our species is. I wish everyone on the planet would show this kind of love, but your image will help many see that it is possible.” Well done Tilan. — @natgeoyourshot Producer David Y. Lee (@davidylee)

I love the lines, textures, and patterns in the field. I love how wide you made this frame, you are taking advantage of everything that is beautiful in this scene.” This photo was selected for July 12, 2018 Daily Dozen.

“On a trip to Indonesia, I captured this False anemonefish,” writes #YourShotPhotographer Gregory Piper. “The brilliance of the reef’s ecosystem never fails to amaze me. The behavior of these animals is truly amazing. I find it best to focus on one spot and allow the animal to pass through your frame due to the speed in which they move. Please practice responsible photography and make sure never to disturb the animal, or its habitat for the sake of the shot!”

#YourShotPhotographer Eiji Itoyama captured these wild flamingos in a small lake in the Serengeti. He writes, “I had heard that flamingos were not typical in a place like Lake Nakuru because of environmental change, especially since water height prevents them from comfortably staying and eating in shallow water. While I was having lunch near a very small lake in the Serengeti, I was happy to see two kinds of wild flamingos in close distance.” This photo was selected for July 11, 2018 Daily Dozen.

Some Angels Choose Fur Instead of Wings… | Photograph by Abi M. Pulikeezh
.
“With my friend, I planned to trek Makalidurga Hills in Karnataka, India. Halfway we saw this dog and gave her some biscuits. As we resumed, she started following and guiding us,” writes #YourShotPhotographer Abi M. Pulikeezh. “She had only three legs but was still able to jump around. During this one-hour trek, she showed the best routes available, and made this travel most beautiful. At one point, she took a deviation which we did know if it was the right way… that deviation ended up in this beautiful shot.”

“Fantastic reaction from Your Shot photographer Rose Ungvari: ‘Wow, I love this story, I love this most gorgeous scene… mostly, I admire how you befriended and trusted in this lone dog with three legs to deviate from your plans, where she guided you to this magical place, her special place that she wanted to share with you and your friend! Excellent image Abi!!” — @natgeoyourshot Producer David Y. Lee (@davidylee)
