KNOW - REP RANGES

Here are some general guidelines that you can use to help you help you reach your fitness goals when it comes to strength training for your specific goals.
-
Again, these are just guidelines and not hard and fast rules. These aren’t magic formulas and they won’t work unless you do.

Consistency and progressive overload will always be numero uno when it comes to making gains.
-
That being said, if your goal is to get as strong as possible, your sets should be done in the 1-5 rep range. If you can do more than 5 reps per set, you’re going too light, bump up the weight.
-
If your goal is to get as big as possible you want to sit at 6-12 reps per set. You’ll definitely “get a pump” in this rep range. Again if you can do more than 12 reps in this rep range you want to bump up the weight.

If muscle endurance is the goal you want to select a weight you can do 12-20 reps with.

1: what I looked like w a pump yesterday

3: what I looked like with a pump ONE YEAR AGO

The change is small but what I see is someone who went from thinking she wanted the lowest number on the scale possible, and didn’t try to bulk and become STRONG, to someone who now eats (IIFYM), lifts, repeats and doesn’t care what the scale says. I used to be discouraged if I went up 3-4 lbs. now I know that if I’m creeping up, it’s more likely to be muscle growth. •
The physical transformation is small but it’s the mental transformation that changed the most for me this past year. Now it’s time to kick into high gear and get the physical transformation going!!

I tried the new Hershey's hot chocolate today from @timhortons and it was pretty good. Less sweet than the Timmies hot chocolate which means you won't get a cavity in one cup.

I decided to start the week off lightly because I didn't get enough sleep last night. So I went on the bike for half an hour and did more than my 5k. I actually did just over 4 miles!
.
I didn't do too much more other than a couple of free weights and stretching because we got such a late start to the day. I do feel better though after going to the gym and I am ready to have a productive day!

One of the first things people ask is...
“How long do you think it will take me too...?” Lose 30 lbs, put on 10 pounds of muscle, get monstererous pythons 🐍 like yours?! Etc.

My answer = FORVEVER. NEVER?
It is an impossible question to answer.

Advice: Find a proven routine. Adjust your diet for your goals and work your face off.

Best thing to do.... GO FIND OUT how long it will take you. .

Sales tip #6: Write down your sales goals (or any goals for that matter).

A group of Harvard grad students were asked if they have set clear, written goals for their futures, as well as if they have made specific plans to transform their dreams into realities.
⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀
The result of the study was only 3% of the students had written goals and plans to accomplish them, 13% had goals in their minds but haven’t written them anywhere, and 84% had no goals at all.
⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀
Think for a moment which group you belong to.
⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀
After 10 years, the same group of students were interviewed again and the conclusion of the study was totally astonishing.
⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀
The 13% of the class who had goals, but did not write them down, earned twice the amount of the 84% who had no goals.
⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀
The 3% who had written goals were earning, on average, 10 times as much as the other 97% of the class combined.
⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀
People who don’t write down their goals tend to fail easier than the ones who have plans.
⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀
If you’re not motivated by money, here are 5 more reasons to create clear goals for your life and career:
1. Goals trigger behavior.
2. Goals guide your focus.
3. Goals sustain momentum.
4. Goals align your focus.
5. Goal setting promotes self-mastery.

A visit last evening to where my fitness journey all began, at my old home gym, had me thinking about how I felt back then. Then I was fearful I would be looked at as a loser, and would never understand how to use all the equipment. We are our worst critics, huh? 😏 But I tried, I persevered, and I conquered my fears! I now walk with confidence and don't give two shits what anyone thinks, it is my journey not theirs. Please be kind to yourself, and love yourself enough to say YOU CAN.
