What I’ve learnt upon my American travels... A car boot is called a trunk, you can turn right at any red light, don’t ask politely for a toilet you are frowned upon like you’ve just said the most horrific word... it’s the restroom!
I’ve learnt my kids can read maps extremely well... in most cases better than I can 🙈 there’s no way I could’ve driven that car I was contemplating hiring, you can buy cannabis anywhere and have as many guns as you want! Uber drivers love Disney music and everyone is extremely friendly.
I’ve learnt my kids have the best manners in the world when really required and can surprisingly be very thoughtful.
But mostly I’ve learnt it doesn’t matter how big and beautiful my home is, how much money is in the bank, how many material things I have - the one asset I now know makes me the happiest is travelling with my family. It’s infectious, it’s the best form of education, team bonding and special irreplaceable quality time. So I’ve learnt above all it’s time to simplify material assets and live a life filled with adventure and travel 😊
