To be loved is a beautiful thing. It is what we all desire in life. To be SEEN, KNOWN and LOVED by the God who made us and by those in our families and communities that He gave us to accompany us this side of heaven. +
As I opened my phone this morning, photos popped up in my timeline and I couldn’t do anything but smile. Such JOY. My heart was exploding with it. +
Four years ago, the love bombs began. I remember feeling overwhelmed and and in awe of just how amazingly generous and loving humans could be. Most of the people who sent gifts and packages had never met us or our daughter, but they were invested in her and wanted us to know how much we were loved. +
To be loved so freely and to have people express their love and kindness toward our family with such overwhelming generosity was amazing. To think that our daughter elicited such a response without ever saying a word still amazes me.
Within days , our freezer was full of meals, Courtney had a dresser drawerful of the softest pajamas, new sheets on her bed and plenty of warm blankets that were washable. There was a new mattress to help keep her from getting bedsores, a seizure monitor and an assortment of lotions to help with her very sensitive skin. +
It was simply amazing to watch love and charity in action in my one home. I think of this time and I cannot be sad. I cannot for one moment, feel anything but immense gratitude for God’s provision through the generous hearts of so many. +
