Hi, my name is Lindsay and this is my real face.
I’m so excited to announce the no makeup campaign I shot on Saturday with @keillycomix!
Also on Saturday, @lora.bishop tagged me in the #20beautifulwomenchallenge, a self-love campaign in which women celebrate their features for which they have been criticized. This challenge fit perfectly with my campaign, so I thought I would use this chance to share my own testimonial. .
I cannot remember a day in my life that I wasn’t sensitive about my dark circles. No matter how much sleep I get, how many face masks I use, how much eye cream I wear to bed, I always have purple half-moons under my eyes.
So my testimonial is the same as many others: every day that I was brave enough to show up at high school without concealer on, I was asked if I was feeling okay. I have been fielding these questions for six years.
And that has absolutely had an impact on my life. On most days I wear makeup from 10 am (when I leave my room) until 11 pm (curfew). It’s not healthy for my skin or my brain, but I do.
And my point isn’t that we should never wear makeup. Only that it is damaging for us to make ourselves and others feel inadequate without it. .
So I want to challenge you (and myself!) to embrace your natural beauty. Post a picture without makeup and tag me in it!! Or send it to me privately so I can tell you how beautiful you are!
So let’s tag at least 20 people to participate in this!! Shout out a friend in the comments and tell her she’s beautiful. 👇🏼
