Omg, I’m undone!! I just baked @abrowntable’s Spicy 🌶 Chocolate Chip - Hazelnut Cookies from his book 📖 Season! I went to an event with @saltandspine @civickitchensf and these were demonstrated! After my first taste of this Cookie, I knew I had to bake these for my cookbook club! 🙌🏻 These are Gluten Free and so spectacular! I used @bobsredmill Hazelnut Meal and @traderjoes Mini Chocolate Morsels and Moscavado Sugar from @indiatree... I love these Cookies and I recommend the 2 hour freezing time, follow this recipe to a T because these are worth the wait!! To my #getcookingcookbookclub group, make these delicious Cookies, only 9 days left for Season so you’ll want to mark these! Highly recommended!!🍪🌰🍫

Turkish Delight!! Ahhh, I just love looking at it. Ever since I saw the Chronicles of Narnia in 2005 I’ve been obsessed with this Sugar Coated Rose 🌹 Gel Candy wrapped in Wax Paper. Then, I worked for NARS @narsissist Cosmetics and we sold a gorgeous Rose Tinted Lip Gloss called Turkish Delight and again it fed my desire to one day make this Candy. Recently, we started going to a nearby restaurant @orsonsbelly and the owners are Turkish, consequently, another Turkish Restaurant opened in our area called @lokmasf. Turkish influences abounding including my good friend @millielottietotes started posting Turkish Coffee@on her feed... Again, it fueled my curiosity and set the impetus to tackle this Candy making project. Voilà- here it is, Turkish Delight. It’s made with Sugar, Cornstarch, Water, Rose Extract and Red or Pink Food Coloring and coated in copious amounts of Powdered Sugar. I used All Natural Red Food Coloring from @colorgardendyes @nielsenmassey Rose Extract @chsugar in the candy and to decorate I also used their Powdered version. I dressed with culinary Mini Rosebuds and @rosedoseofficial Culinary Rose Petals gifted from @rezelkealoha. Have you ever had Turkish Delight? Turkish Delight or Lokum is a family of Sweet’s comprised of starch, gel & sugar! Lokum is Turkish for morsel and mouthful and this deliciousness has been made since the 18th Century. I actually wanted to make this for my friend Jan for her recent birthday 🎁 so @millielottietotes, I owe you some. Thank you to my friend Alanna @the_bojon_gourmet for gifting me these beautiful bowls and dark surface, perfect for my Turkish Delight. What’s on your list to one day make, go for it! 🌹🍬😊

These are the Turkey- Mushroom 🍄 Hand-pies from Season for #getcookingcookbookclub.These were so delicious and the spices were so harmonious in this filling. Chipotle Seasoning and Kashmiri Chile from @oaktownspice gave the Turkey and Shrooms a delightful Smokiness and the Nigella Seeds also from @oaktownspice added a touch of whimsy and a delightful crunchiness. I used Shitake Mushrooms but the recipe calls for Cremini Mushrooms. I was recently @farwestfungi and purchased Shitakes so that’s what I had on hand. A lot of you from my group have marked this recipe and I know you’ll love them... In my oven, they baked in 23-26 minutes so follow the recipe timing and go from there. I will definitely be making these again, David loved these as did I! Another incredible recipe from Nik Sharma’s Season!!🍄

I had a little fun baking project this weekend... I made the Turkey - Mushroom 🍄 Hand Pies from @abrowntable’s Season for #getcookingcookbookclub... These were absolutely delightful and I’ll be posting the baked version tomorrow... They are made with Puff Pastry 🥮 and the Filling is made with Mushrooms, Turkey, Chipotle and Kashmiri Chile among other star ingredients... I love how Pie 🥧 prep shots look and how beautiful the doughs look in photos... These are the built hand pies 🥧 pre egg wash and before they were dressed with @oaktownspice Nigella Seeds... My husband loved these and I can’t wait to bake them again! If you haven’t marked these yet, plan on making them! Another stellar recipe from Nik Sharma from Season!!🙌🏻

Thinking back to last Saturday with my friend @myberkeleykitchen where we made our first Spanish Tortilla in a Cooking Class with @chefjoanneweir... The Class focused on Spanish Cuisine including this deliciousness, Tapas & Pinxtos... Here is our Spanish Tortilla, Spicy 🌶 Pork Pinxtos with Moorish Flavors and Chorizo & Cheese Puffs... This was such a magical experience and sharing this with Shahla will go down in history... Happy 😃 FRIYAY!!! It’s a drizzly Friday and these Sweet Potato 🍠 Fries 🍟 with Basil 🌿 Yogurt Sauce is just the dish you need to cozy up during this Stormageddon!! This recipe is from @abrowntable’s Season Cookbook and I encourage all of my #getcookingcookbookclub peeps to make these! This Sauce tho!! It’s made with Greek Yogurt, Fresh Basil 🌿, Scallions, Avocado 🥑, Thai Chile etc. and it’s absolutely delectable!! Pucker Up 😘 for your Valentine!! This is @ashrod’s Oatmeal Crumble made with Fresh Raspberries & Red Currants... I was gifted these beautiful Ruby Red Jewels at a recent shoot with @the_bojon_gourmet and couldn’t wait to use them in a dessert!! This is a perfect tart & sweet treat 🍨 for a cold winter night as you cuddle up with your sweetheart!! Got a sweet tooth? I do when it involves Chocolate & Peanut 🥜 Butter... I recently made these homemade Salted Mini Peanut Butter & Jam Cups using @woo_garden Lust Jam and @scharffenberger Chocolate!! The Peanut Butter is Skippy Extra Crunchy Natural which my husband David’s favorite! He panics if we are down to two full jars!! Anyway, these are super easy to make and there will be more coming soon! A perfect thing to make for your Valentine!!❤️🙌🏻❤️

Andrea Nguyen @andreanguyen88 does it again with another recipe that I’m in love with!! This is her recipe for Charred Brussels Sprouts with Coconut 🥥!! As a kid, I rebelled at supper time when my Mom would serve us Brussels Sprouts!! I called them little trees 🌳 and I detested them! That was probably because my mom simply boiled frozen Brussels Sprouts and to me, they were bland and texturally not something I desired! As I matured, the Brussels Sprouts gained favor in my opinion and of recent years they certainly have become a food trend! Making them at home, I roast them normally with Garlic, EVOO and Kosher Salt or do Shaved Brussels Sprouts in our Salads… Now, with this recipe I have to admit it’s my new favorite way to prepare them! Charring them in a Skillet cut side down then steaming them in Coconut Water and finishing with Fish Sauce after they are slightly Caramelized!! I added Toasted Sesame Seeds and a little Sriracha Sauce and I had a delicious healthy lunch!!
