My weight loss journey started 6 years ago (last picture is me at my heaviest), but this is where my @rpstrength journey starts.
Last year in the beginning of June, I started @rpstrength . It was an amazing first cut and I went from 213 to 195 in 12 weeks. Just as I finished the cut, my dad lost his battle to cancer. I never got to take my “after” picture. I soon found myself doing things I never thought I’d do, putting myself in situations I never would have done before. I was barely in the gym, I ate out all the time, and I gained all my weight back and then some. I crawled back up to almost 230lbs... I was depressed.
After getting the help I needed with the most incredible support system anyone could have, I started to pull myself from rock bottom. It was a very slow climb, but I always used my RP templates as a guide.
Fast forward to last week, I realized that I was exactly where I was a year ago, back at the same weight right before my dad passed and that was very bittersweet for me. So here I am, finally doing an “after” picture at 195lbs. This wasn’t an easy post to make as I’ve never been comfortable showing my body, and it took me a year to get back here. But I’m so proud of this transformation and all that I’ve been through and learned about myself.
My back squat shot up 21lbs, I got my first strict pull up, and I’m so close to a kipping handstand push up and ring dips. My coach is also getting me comfortable on the rings to start learning to kip for ring muscle ups. I used the fat loss templates with CF and some Olympic weightlifting in between.
Thank you @rpstrength for putting out such an amazing program. And no words could ever express my thanks to every one who was with me every step of the way, through the good, the bad, the tears, the frustration, and the non training hangry days. @rp_transformations *
