As I sit here reminiscing about my summer on Nose it hits me that I’ve officially been off the mountain for almost 3 months...that’s almost my whole season up there...that’s a long time!
Time passes whether you want it to or not. Some days feel like forever, whereas for the most part, weeks, months, years pass us by in the blink of an eye.
For the most part people are always waiting for that ‘good time’ to start something, whether that be a new career, going back to school, leaving a bad relationship, coming out, stopping drinking (rehab), weight loss, fitness, etc. The list of things people are waiting to do is literally endless, as they sit around waiting for the ‘right time’ to start.
As we approach the end of 2018, are there things you had declared 12 months ago that you were going to do but haven’t yet? Are you scratching your head wondering where time has gone? Are you going to ‘try again’ in 2019, only to still wait until things are ‘perfect’ to start?
Just think of where you’d be if you had just taken that first step and started. You’d be close to 12 months into a new goal, getting ready to declare and start something new in 2019.
We’ve run 2 timed programs this year: 80 Day Obsession and LIIFT4. We had a lot of interest, however the time wasn’t ‘right’ for a lot of people. But for those who did join, they are now 5 months ahead of where they were 5 months ago because they got out of their own way and started. They are 5 months stronger. They are 5 months healthier. They are 5 months more confident, committed, dedicated, and 5 months into a new health routine.
Time passes whether you want it to or not. Life is always going to happen, whether you want it to or not. There is no such thing as ‘the perfect time’. If you want changes you have to be willing to stop the BS, throw away your excuses, and get out of your own way!
